THE PRINCE EDWARD.-A very pleasing programme of entertainment was presented at the Prixicc Edward Theatre yesterday. when ut thc ihrec shows there was ii largehttendance. The General Film Company presented an English production in three parts entitled “The Red Cross Nurse." 'lt was a photo-play o_f which might be truly said, briuiful of excitenient, hair- breadth escapes and intensely thrilling situations. The acting of the heroine was superb, and the udroitnei-is with which shc filled dll'l’icult inasculiuo roles `waii remarkable. Sho went through “thick and thin" to save her lov-;r‘s country from u peril that was inevitable if the cnemy's plans were. not frustratcrl, and her mngnlilcent success, in spite of nlmost insuper- able dliilcull.-les. disarmcd hor lover's father oi his deep-seated racial pro- judice and won his entire upprovnl of hcr marriage to his son. “Jacques the Wolf " in three parts was a second excellent dramatic production, evcry whit as good as the other. The views of “0ur__yYeelily_yY§.r Special " were splendid and intensely interesting, de- picting “ right-up-to-the-minute" scenes from thc war. A very funny comedy and an excellent vocal selection by Mr Cairns were the other numbers of the programme. the usual good programme at- the I’eople’s Theatre last night. lt' was_a complete change from the previous night and seldom has a better class'of photo-playsbeen shown in 'this city.
