Nov. 23rd to hear of the passing of Mrs. Davis Baker in herI83rd year. Mrs. Baker was formerly Bertie Bigger and was the only daughter of the late Charles and Emily Williams.Biggar of Stan- ley Bridge. She resided in Freetown for a number of years after her mai- riage, later moving to Summer side For the past eight years she resided with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Andrews of Norboro who both so willingly gave her devo- tion and loving care in her de- ciining years. a cheerful and happy dis- position, Mrs. Baker was loved and esteemed by all who knew her and many admired her great patience and tenderness in caring for sick and elderly persons. For many years she was a member and regular attendant of Freetown Presbyterian Church. also a member of the Women's Missionary Society and later attended the Presby- lerian Church in Summerside v where her place on Sunday was seldom vacant. Left to cherish her memory are her husband. Charlottetown, . one daughter. Hazel. Mrs. John Andrews. Norboro and one son Stanley of Clovei-dale. B.C. also seven grandchildren and four- teen great grandchildren. Two ‘brothers. J. Stanley and William W.. predeceased her. The funeral which was large ly attended was held on Tues- day afternoon, Nov. 26 from the Freetown Presbyterian Church and was conducted by her for- mer pastor Rev. J. Donald Mc- Kay of Summerside. who paid tribute to the deceased and spoke words of comfort to the bereaved family and friends. Hymns sung by a mixed choir were “The Lord's My Shep- herd" and "Shall we Gather at The River". A duet "My Home. Sweet Home" was feelingly ren- dered by Mrs. Bruce Moore and Mr. J.B. Lewis. Mrs. John Payn- ter was organist. -Pallbearers were Truemsn P a y n te r. Andrew Jardine. Frank Murphy. Alex Douglas. Wilbert Drummond and Roland Sheen. Mr. Joseph Davison was in c h a rge of the funeral ar- rangements. Interment took place in New London cemetery. We cannot think of her as dead who is here with us no more.
