7) ’ “ i 4’5 I s « v THE UPE|%§UN, Thursday, October 2, 1980, page A it seems that the SUN may have opened a can of Worms in the disguise of Security, judging from the res- ponse to last week's article. officers talk about the extra burdens placed on them, and the administration implies that officers are over- reacting and should fulfill their jobs. meanwhile, one has to wonder what happens to the student caught between this rift through no fault of our own.‘ after all, there would be little need for security here at UPEI if there were no students. this past weekend saw an Atlantic Regional CUP conference in Halifax. It was especially Beneficial for gathering ideas to get you apathetic beasts out to help on the paper (i have just missed my deadline because it takes much time to put out a paper if there's nothing to put in it except for cartoons), and finally getting the cobwebs out concerning the breakdown in relations between the Canadian Univer- sity Press (CUP) and Youthstream, the company from whom we receive all of our national advertisements. various alternatives to Youthstream were discussedi the most important function of the conference was to strengthen and present to the remainder of our country a united force representing the Atlantic university press. please, mr sanlei is right in his article when b mentions the SUN is bland. we have many topics for scrutiny, we just need the personnel to dig up facts, a not very difficult job, so please, get off your fat butt ends and whip over to the SUN and volunteer to write a newstory. how can we stand a bland paper? it serves no purpose and should be buried along with everyOne else on this campus.
