Vincent, formerly Minister o! the Sackville Baptist Church. Mr. Vincent who will supply this Church during March, is well known throughout the Maritime Provinces as a preacher of more than ordinary eloquence and appeal. His theme at the morning ser- vice yesterday was "The Temper of the Christian," taking as his text Isaiah 50.7, “Therefore have I set my face like a. flint, and I shall not be put to shame." This sermon was a stirring appeal to Christians for a rcdedication, for a firm and vigorous conviction, wherein they would with -c0urage and confidence move on to I victory. At. the evening service Mr. Vincent spoke again taking as his text, "Sil- ver and Gold have I none, but such as I have give I unto thee." What we are we give-what we have we give, what we must have have in. order to give-were the leading thoughts of his vcry moinng discourse. A deeply and sincerely evangelistic presenta- tion of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The morning anthem was e. very beautiful setting of Dr. George Ma- theson's wonderful lines “O Love that will not let me go." At the evening service Miss Clara Graham's sweet soprano was heard to great advantage in McDerniid’s setting of the Ninety First Psalm. Large audiences were in attendance at both services, while a new record of attendance was set in the Sunday School. ZION CHURCH "Anchored till Daybreak" was the topic of the Minister's sermon yester- day morning. Text was Acts 27, 28, 29. “They cast four anchors and wished for the day." There was a large audience in the evening to hear Mr. Fulton discourse on “Was Adam the First Man?” He dealt with usually accepted explan- otion first; and then propounded the theory acsdem caliy as to the Adam- stock and the pre-Adamid races. Certain passages (Gen. 14: R. R. V.; Deut. 2:20, 21; 3:11) seem to szzggest .earlier civilization which are now ati the remains of a race other than the Adamic race. Such being the case being excavated may have belonged to them. Dr. G. Campbell Morgan, a few years ago in London declared himself as in complete ‘agree ‘ with the usually accepted age of the Adamic stock. Any discoveries that archaeologists may make would not come into any conflict whatever with what the Bi- ble teaches about the antiquity o man. . MUSIC In the morning the choir rendered the anthem, "Jesus Saviour Pilot M's," by Schnecker, Miss Gladys Farquharson taking the soprano solo. In the evening the anthem was Turner's “Sun of my Soul." Miss Flora Campbell took tho solo part, and Mr. Mnicoim- McKinnoh sang the bass solo "Not Understood" by I-loughton.
