' .A well arranged program was conducted by Mrs. Clarke Baker , assisted by several of the members with scripture reading from Luke; the Christmas story of- tdlling Christ's birth, and interspersed with appropriate Christmas hymns. Mrs. Walter Hbgg was at the piano. A duet entitled "Glory to God in the Highest" by Maxine and; Judy Campbell was much enjoyed by all. Miss Lillian-sobey was present- ed with atlife membership certif- icate in memory of her mother. who had been a valued member of the society for many years. The Auxiliaries then met in sep- arate groups for their business period. The committee in charge report- ed the box of food had been pack- ed and shipped for overseas relief, also a. box of clothing had been sent. The Christmas meeting of the Hampton W.M.S. was held at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Thompson on Tuesday, December 2nd at 8 pm. the theme being, "The Season oi Birth and Re-Birth”. The president. Mrs. John Dixon. presided and the meeting opened with quiet music played by the organist, Mrs. Mark Cameron. Christmas carols were sung by the members, followed by prayer, and scripture readings were given by Mrs. Mac Dixon,' Mrs. Homer Pro- vencher. Mrs. C. Ince and Mrs. Ei- mer Inman. A very impressive re- sponsive reading was conducted by Mrs. Clayton Morrison with inter- vals of silent prayer. A solo, "Infant Holy", was rend- ered by Mrs. Lorne Ferguson. The altering was received and dedica- tion read by Mrs. Mark Cameron. The worship service closed with Benediction by Mrs. R. H. Baxter. The business period then fol- lowed; minutes of the last meeting were read by Mrs. Min Bell, ap- proved and signed. Roll call was answered by 18 members and there was also one visitor present. The Community Friendship sec- retary reported 14 home calls, one hospital call, l5 cards and four treats. The supply secretary re- ported having sent clothing and Christmas cards. The treas- urer reported the allocation had been overreached. -The members were reminded to send get-well cards to a sick member in hos- pital. Mite boxes were opened at this meeting and reported as quite encouraging. - A Bible quiz was capably con- ducted by Mrs. R. H. Baxter and proved very interesting and in- structive. RACHAEL MICKENZIE There passed away peacefully at her home in Victoria Cross, on October 19th. 1952, Mrs. Rachael MacKcnzlc, widow of the late John A. Maclienzie, at the age of '12 years. Although not enjoying the best of health for some time. her death came as a severe shock to her family and friends. Mrs. MacKenzie Rose Valley, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm MacKenzie. She had been a devout Christian, true wife and mother who spared nothing for the comforts and Joys of her home and family. She leaves to mourn her passing two sons and three daughters, Wil- iiam at home; Angus. Charlotte- town; Florence, Mrs. Meari Rodg- erson, Fannlngbrook; Mabel,tM.rs. Mrs. Clifford Campbell, Charlotte- town; one brother, William; sister, Sadie, Mrs. Her husband and son John M predeceased' her five years ago; service 1945. Daniel MacDonald. She was a life-long resident of the Province, spending most of her life at the family home at Pisquld where she won for herself alhost of friends. Her later years were spent with her nephew, .1. Aeneas "MacDonald of Allisary, where she lived in apparent good health until six months ago when time began to show its ravages and she was put under the care of the good Sisters at the Sacred Heart Home, and the Charlotte- town Hospital where she passed away. Through her life the deceased was It devout members or the Roman Catholic Church and lr her illness was comforted with the last rites of the church by Rev. Maurice McDonald. A large concourse of relatives and friends attended to pay their respects at her funeral, which was held from the home of her niece, Mrs. Joseph Barrett, Gienroy, to St. Andrew's Church where High Mass was celebrated by Rev. George Maccormack who also per- formed the services at the grave. with the solemn rites of , Holy Mother Churcli which she had served so faithfully and well, her earthly form was tenderly con- signed to consecrated earth, there to await the glorious Resurrection "May her soul rest in peace”.
