In any of the above complaints more benefit may be derived in twenty-four hours by adopting the following simple means than is frequently brought }about in six months by any other treatment. In bad cases, if the Ointment be rubbed into the smal! of the back over the region of the kidneys, it wil! quickly penetrate, and ia most instances give im- mediate relief. Six or eight of the Pills should be taken nightly according to circumstances. Diptheria, Sore Throats, &c. These maladies are of so serious and dangerous a watcre that the Ointment would not be recom- mended unless the Proprietor was sure of its effect [t will cure, when every other means have failed, if applied immediately, and not delayed until the patient is beyond recovery. It is a sovereign re medy for sore throats. Settled coughs or wheez ng will be promptly removed by rubbing in this unguent. Mothers sheuld rub it into the ehest ef their infants whenever there is any hoarseness, tightness, or other affection of breathing. Bad Legs, Bad Breasts — Old Wounds, Sores and Uleers. It is surprising how quicky a sore, ulcer or wound deprives the body of strength, and anfits it for the duties of life; but it is no less wonderful to watch the effect of Holloway’s Healing Ointment, when it is used according to the printed directions, and assisted by appropriate doses of the Pills. The pain, inflammation, and other morbid manifestations soon disappear from the affected part, and health and strength return. This treatment creates sound flesh, and therefore makes its cures complete. Gout and Rheumatism Will be cured with the greatest certainty if large quantities of the Ointment be well worked into the complaining parts. This treatment must be perse- veringly followed for some time, and duly assisted by powerful doses of Holloway’s Pills, Theessence of these diseases lies in the blood, whieh bas floating throngh each vessei the pain-giving poison which vitiates and inflames every tissue it comes in con- tact with, and produces the hot, swollen, elastic enlargement about the joints sv characteristic of gouty and rheumatic maladies. Poly Cfiicacions The first operation is to lcosen from the coateof the stomach and bowels the variousimpurities and ¢eradi- tiesconstantly settling round them; and to remove the hardened faeces whie!. collect in the convola. tions of the small intestines. Other medicines op partially cleanse these, and leave such collected masses behind as to produce habitual Costivenes with all its train «f evily, or sudden Diarrbes with its imminen dangers. This fact is well-known to all regular anatomists who examine the buman bowels after death; and hence theprejudices of these weli informed men against the quack medi- cinesof the age. The second effect of the VEOSB- TABLE LIFE MEDICINES is to cleanse the kid- neys and the bladder; and, by this meane, the livey and juugs, the healthful action ef which entirely depends upon the regularity of the urinary orgape. The blood, which takes its red color from the ageney of the liver and lungs, hefcre it passes into the heart, being thus purified ty them, and nourished by food coming from a clean stomach, courses freely through the veins, renews every partof the system, and triumphantly mounts the banner of health jp the blooming cheek. The following are among the distressing variety of human diseasesin which the VEGETABLE LI¥R MEDICINES are well known to be infallible. FEVEKS of all kinds, by restoring the blood tea regular circulation, through the process of perspi- ration in such cases, and the thorough solution of all intestinal obstrnetion in others. The Lares Mepictves have been known to cure Rheumaiis permanently in three weeks, and Gout in balf that time, by removing local inflammation from the muscles and ligaments of the joints. Dropsies ot ail kinds, by freeing and strengthep- ing the kidneys and bladder; they operate most de- lightfully on these important orgaus, and hence they have ever been found a certain remedy for the worst cases of Gravel.g : Also Worms, by dislodging from the turnings of the bowels the slimy matter to which these creatares adhere. Asthma and Consumption, by relieving the air vessels of the lungs from the mucous which even slight colds will occasion, ard which, if not removed, becomes hardened, and produces those dreadful dis- eases. Scurvy, Ulcers and Inveterate Sores, by the perfeet purity whieb these LIFE MEDICINES give wo the blood, and all the humors. Scorbutic Eruptions and Ead Complezions, by their alternative efiect upon the ‘uids that feed the skin, and the morbid state of which occasions ai) erpp- tive complaints, sallow, cloudy, and other disagree- able complexions. The use of. these Pills for a very short time will effect an entire cure of Salt Rheum, and a striking improvement in the clearness of the skin. Common Colds and Influenza will tlways ve cured by one dose, or by two even in the worst cases. DYSPEPSIA, by thoroughly cleansing the firs’ and secon’ stomachs, and creating a flow of pure healthy bile, instead of the stale and acrid kind, Flatulency, Loss of Appetite, Heartburn, Headache, Restlessness, J-Temper, Lengour, and Melancholy, which are the general symptoms of Dyspepsia, will vanish, as & natural consequence of its cure, CCSTIVEN ESS, by cleansing the whole length of the intestines with a solventprsceas, and without vio- lence: all violent purges teave the bowols costive within two days.
