E. Island Saturday with a car of very fine horses. Several of the ani- mals are to be used in connection, with the city works, while a few will be offered for gale. The horses are all fine looking animals, and weigh from 1100 two 1500 pounds each. They were much admired to-day by the large number who visited the owner's stables. ssiiadtlianinil Tee Women Resion.—lt is stated that the women receutly elected muuicipal of- ficers of the city of Elgerton, Kansas, have become disgusted with their newly acquired honors, and have resigned, They were el- ected originally as a joke.
