The fire was first dis- ce wered by one of Mr. MeCourt’s daugh- tera, who saw a blaze from her room win dow abvut 10 o'clock. She alarmed tle househuld, aud op their going out it wes found that a straw stack in the rear of the birn was on fire The fismes quickly spread to the barn, and thenea to the stable and a shed which contained 4 lot of hay. In spite of all efforts these buildings were totally destroyed. The stock were sived with the exception of a pig, which, was so badly burned that it had w be, killed. A truck wagon anda new sleigh, which were in the stable at the time of the fire were also burned. Mr. McCourt's loss isa very severe ons.
