On of the reasons ‘why this was -possirble was because of the spienr ‘dld showing which Canada made in her National Exhibition at Bar- cvlona, it ibfiillg the most attractive exhibit from any iforelgn country. or the birds which were shown tin-re displayed such vigour- and strong constitution that they wt-ro almost a sensation to the 21 other countries represented at the Congress. Further in these birds there were those not only with standard ‘bred qualities. but tlicre were brids that had qualified in Registration and Record of Per- formance, the product of Canada's xiatiotial encouragement of breed- lng for egg production. What the Congress Will Mean to Canada it ls expected that t e ngress will be the largest world gathering that Canada has ever seen. it will be the largest poultry gather- ing that has ever come together in the whole world, in all probabil- ity there will be several thousand delegates from outside of Canada. inhily of them coming across the will rgivo to the poultry industry in Canada. an industry that ai- ready has hnd almost phenomenal development during the past de- cade. lt will mean considerable to the further development of an export trade in breeding coekerels. ATTENDANCE —~ Every ince should be represented with as large an attendance at the 0on- greas al Possible. There are rea- sons why this is very desirable, it is a good thing for the province to have the people who are interested in the province, able to see the many influential visitors from such a. number of countries. From a national standpoint it is import- ant that we have a large attend- ance at the Congress, this is Cau- ada’s congress. and we want to keep it Canadian. it is reported that there will be 2.500 delegates at least from the United States, it is not desirable that the dele- gates from outside of America go only the United States. Canada must have as many delegates at this Congress as all other coun- tries together, and in order to have them we must depend on the individual provinces sending a large number. This l is not a poultry convention it is a world gathering. EXHIBITS. An opportunity such as the Congress will give to this country to show the rest of the world what Canada has in poultry should be made use of to the fullest extent. lt must be demonstrated that the class of poultry which was taken, in so few numbers to Barcelona, is rs- presanted in Canada by the thous- lnds of Millions. it is desirable. therefore. that the Natinoal Ex- hibit of live poultry have not only the quality but quantity as well. There will ibe two divisions in this tiatlotial exhibit, an educational display and the live bird exhibit. lu the former each province will units to tell one national story of poultry development. in the lat- tor-tho live bird exhibit, the birds who stayed together will hear the hams of the breeder mid the province, so both will got full advertising. ln addition to these National ex- hibits an opportunity will be u-iv» on for each province to stage an exhibit of its own. this exhibit to show what work is being curried on in the province. There will be no objection that in the lkeraturc there be included information at‘ to' what a good province this is for settlers. Mr. Edward Brown of London, England, President or the Worlds Poultry Congress, when driving through the Maritime Pro- vinces early ln June expressed himself as delighted wiili thu country, and wanted to know why people from a country so nruch like their own, and where they they would fuel so much st home. it is hoped that this province will not miss this op- portunlty of telling the rest of tho world what you have here. Visitors to the Province There will be two opportunities the Maritime Provinces.
