Illlllt in the 0'Leary public hall with coroner Dr- Charles De- war presiding. The nine-year-old boy. a son of Mr. and Mrs. Grover MacDonald. died of injuries received May 17, when he was run over by a heavily loaded farm wagon, haul- ed by a tractor operated by Wilbert Dennis of Knutsford. The first witness. Mrs. Edsel Dumville. O'Leary. told of witness- ing the accident from a window of her home. She said the farm tractor. hauling a trailer and two farm wagons. was not going very fast at the time and a number of children were jumping on 'and off the wagons. .. Arnold Wood and his son Col- ston also witnessed the accident from a truck a short distance be- hind the wactor. Both thought thedriver would be unable to see the children on the wagons owing to the high rack on the trailer. Wilbert Dennis. driver of the tractor. stated he had warned the children to keep away and to stay off the wagons. He said he did not know they were on the wagon when he left the car where he had loaded eight tons of fertilizer on the trailer and two wagons. His tractor was rated at between three and four miles per hour in the gear he was using to haul the loads. He stated he was not a- ware of the fatality until lnforrn- ed by two friends later in the evening. The final witness. Constable C. Cecil Norman MacDonald. 0'- ' Chief Justice Thane A, Camp- bell.
