Besides the regular members a. iniunber of visitors made a total part. in, and enjoy this anniversary meeting. The president, Miss Vera. Cannon, presided and in a few well chosen words welcomed visitors and members to the meeting. After the opening hymn the flfth chapter of Matthew was clearly read by An- nie Lord Morrison. The regular business of the Band was carried out, each committee, secretary and watchtower giving a satisfactory account. An interesting feature was the roll-call, when each member res- ponded by contributing to the Band according to his or her age — a. penny for each year. Then a help- ful worship period on the Lord's Prayer was participated in by the members under the efficient, lend- ership of Mrs. Ernest Cameron. Suitable recitations were given by Nelson Cannon, Morey Morrison, Esther Campbell and Gordon Dix- on. Two instructive exercises by the De Sable and Hampton mem- bers showed effectively how God's work is fostered among the young in this and other lands. Complimentary remarks were made by Mrs. John D. MacFarlzine who brought an interesting mes- sage of a Mission Band demon- stration which she witnessed while attending the annual Presbyterian in Charlottetown. Miss MncRae and Mrs. Morrison spoke of their pleasure in being present and the great privilege the children have of studying under such devoted leaders. A beautiful closing ritual was then chanted alter which the mizpah benediction closed this part of the meeting. In a short time Mrs. Cameron placed on the table a large birthday cake beaut- ifully decorated in the Mission Band colors and bearing five light- ed candles. Needless to say this was very much admired by all. Appetizing refreshments with hot cocoa. was then served to all by the superintendentJ/liss Iva. French and assistants. The birthday cake was cut and each member and visitor presented with a generous piece. Thus the fifth anniversary of this thriving Band will long be remembered and be an inspiration for still greater accomplishments in the coming year. The February meeting of the Hampton W.M.S. was held n Tuesday ‘evening, Feb‘. 2, at t c home of Mrs. Clayton Morrison. Although the evening was unplea- sant yet a goodly number were present and an interesting meet.- lng held. The meeting expressed pleasure that. the 1936 financial ob- jectlve had been reached both by Auxiliary and Mission Band. It was decided to try for the same ob- jective in 1937. The members of the Auxiliary accepted the kind invitation of Victoria W.M.S. to meet at the home of Mrs. Jabez Lea, Victoria, on Friday, Feb. l2, for a joint Day of Prayer service. The study book Men and Women of Far Horizons was effectively ex- plalned by IVIrs. George Dunsford and Mrs. Will MacFarlane.
