An attempted-ab- duction case was further adjourned and a vagrant was sentenced to 10 days in Jail. NAVAL QUARTERS TENDER ._ One sealed tender for the Sims building now occupied as H.M.C.S. "Queen Charlotte" was received up to noon. June 29. the deadline set by the Provincial Department of blic Works in advertising the building for sale. The nature of the tender was not. revealed. In the meantime, it is learned that the Department is waiting for the Dominion Government to open neg- otiations for renewal of lease or. purchase of the building for naval purposes. The Dominions five year lease, at a rental of $1,000 a year, expired July 1 and while no direct word has been received from Ot- tawa. indirectly it was learned that the Dominion desires to continue the leasing arrangement.
