The Elder-Dempster steamship Monter- ey, Captain Parry, which will shortly sail from Halifax for South Africa with the Strathcona Horse, will fly a unique flag, on which will be emblazoned the arms of Lord Strathcona on a red shield mounted on a white ground. The shield is divided into three parallel bars, and bears first the maple tree and beaver, second a. toma- hawk and spike crossed, and third, four voyageurs in a canoe.
