Rogerson, Victoria. left last week to spend some time visiting with her daughter, Mrs. James Lockwood, North Adams. Mass., and other relatives and friends there. Mrs. F. C. Inman, Victoria, ac- companied by her daughter, Miss Edith of the Provincial Sana- torium, have returned home after a. very enjoyable visit with friends in Sydney, Cape Breton, N. S. Miss Annie Watson, Charlotte- town, has returned home after having spent a pleasant two weeks holiday at the Orient Hotel, Vic- toria. While here she had the pleasure of sketching a number of interesting sceneries, Visitors to the Village by the Sea are now leaving our shores much to the regret of all, but schools and colleges are again re- opening, and duty calls many of the more mature ones, so once again farewells are said and ex- pressions of a good time had by all are common conversation. The English Church Tea Party held on the beautiful Rectory grounds at Crapaud on August 10th was a huge success from ev- ery standpoint. The day was ideal there was a large attendance and so a very happy time was had by all who were fortunate enough to be present as many were the handclasps and renewals of friend- ship amongst the large crowd as- semblfd. Mrs. Ewen lViacKinnon, Cam- bridge, Massachusetts, was a re- cent visitor with relatives and friends in Victoria and surround- ing districts. Her many friends here are always pleased to see her return bringing with her as she does a spirit of liveliness and friendliness. She is one of the many Islanders who have made good in the land of Uncle Sam. The deepest sympathy of this community is extended to Mr. Fin- ley Ferguson, Victoria, and other members of the family on Prince Edward Island in the sudden death of their brother, William Fergu- son of Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Monday, August 8th, in Regina, where, accompanied by Mrs. Fer- guson they had been on a visit to their son Bill who resides in that city. The late Mr. Ferguson in company with his wife had just returned from a motor trip when he complained of not feeling well. A doctor was hastily summoned but before he had .cached his side he had passed away, death being due to a sudden heart attack.
