Doyle Memorial Trophy for the highest point Aggregate at the Maritime Championships track and field meet held at Memorial Field on Saturday afternoon. Watson. a native of Toronto. was five points up on his nearest rival Dave MacLeod of the Abbies who Icored Ill points and who was last vear's winner .of the Doyle trophy. The Abbies with a high point iotal of 48 were 9 up on Amherst to win the Premier Mat-Nair tro- rhy- Cool weather and a brisk wind kept Maritimc records well out of reach of the competing athletes and only one of the existing Meni- -rial Field records was cracked. The feat was accomplished by Sandy Patterson. a heavily-biiilt athlete hailing from Boston, Mass . who hurled the discus 130 ft. 11 1-4 ins. to heat "Tink" Kytt-'s old mark by 16 feet 3 IN inches.
