Relief There has been much activity on the campus at St. Dunstan’: this past week-activity occasioned by the decision of the students to do all in their power to adopt a "D.P." Student, and thus take part, as o member unit of I. S. 5., in a broad Pffllramme of intellectual and ‘ma.- terlal relief. The objective of I. S. S. in this respect, is to have at least one "D.P." student on each Canadian campus. The students of St. Dunstan's, in consideration of their comparatively small enroll- ment, have thus undertaken a con- siderable task, but, with the help and support of all, Ithey hope to make their effort a complete suc- cess. - As the first step in their fund- raislng campaign, a skate, epon- sored by the 1. S. S. Committee‘ will be held in the College rink on Saturday night, Feb. 26. Ticket: have been printed, and are being widely distributed for this event. It is hoped that the proceeds from this skate, when coupled with the returns from the canteen which will be operated in connection with it, will give the drive an excellent stsrt. On Feb. 7, Mrs. Harold Clark. travelling secretary of of I. S. S. first introduced the proposal at adopting a "D.P." to a group of in- Phone. 860 essarily accepted. TENDERS Th. Since that time it has been thoroughly discussed by the Faculty, the Executive Council of the Students Union and by the students in general. The enthus- iasm was such as to justify the for- mation of a committee to take charge 0t the project, and to draw up plans fo_r the raising of the ne- cessary amount of money, ' lltllikequired The students must assume com- plete responsibility for the "DP." student for one year; and to en- sure this, the I. S. S. requires that $800 be raised as soon as pas- sible. Of this amount, $100.00 goes towards the upkeep of the nation- a1 office; $100.00 is set aside for direct relief to needy students throughout the world; $100.00 is us- ed to defray expenses in selecting the student (The International Re- JPROFESSIONAL CARDS/ Xugee Organization and the Cana- dian Embassy are co-operatlng in this matter): $200.00 is held in re- serve ss an “Emergency Fund" for Gaudet l: Hazard Barristers. The students, confident of the same support this year, are now making plans to carry out several fund- raislng projects. Thus they hope to raise as much money es possible themselves, and have decided to oh- tain the help of outside sources for only the remainder of the required funds.
