Biology Conference ‘Held by John Gallant _ The thirteenth annual Atlantic Universities Undergraduate Biology Conference was held at UPEI on March 6, 7, &. 8. Ninety undergraduate students and professors from around the Maritimes attended the proceedings which saw the presentation of nineteen papers. Friday evening was registration and a reception in the Barn. Saturday was a busy day, with thirteen papers being presented, along with a very interesting lecture delivered by Dr. Kenneth Mann, director of the Marine Ecology labora- tory at the Bedford Insti— tute of Oceanography. Saturday evening a dinner/ dance was held and a good time was had by all. Sunday morning six more papers were delivered and the prize for best paper was presented to Brad Munt of Mount Allison U. Kevin Cash (Acadia), Donna Scott (Mount Allison.) , and Mary Doyle (St F.X.) received honorable mention from APICS for their papers. Allan Miller, fran our own department of Biology delivered a paper on Forest Fertilization on PEI. We carnend him for a job well done. ' " The conference was a big success.
