He was forty-nine ,yelirs of use. i Mr. Newman. affectionately call- ed "Ed" by his hon of friends was widely known as a successful farmer and man of broad interests. Hc had recently been occupied in renovating his home and harm having made extensive improve- ments to his property. Hla concern 'foi- better agriculture won for him a place on the first Farm Radio Forum Committee for the province. For twelve years he was in the employ of the international Har- vester company' being the head mechanic on the Island. He was a faithful member of Hunter River United Church serving in the choir and on the Board of Cemetery Trustees. Mr. Newman was born at Kings- ton. P. E. I. on December 25th. 1901, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Newman. On June 26th. 1924, he married Ethel Boyle of Cornwall. shortly afterwards mov- ing to llilnter River.
