Fisu Trape.—The market for mackerel sustains a firm tone, with a good demand for all offering from the Provinces and the fleet. Receipts last were 5,863 bris, of which 4,703 were from foreign ports and 1,163 from domestic sources. The fleet landed 7,298 brls against 8,598 brs fur the corresponding week last year. The total catch to date by the New England fleet is 58.557 bris, against 258,900 brls same time last year, and 319,698 bris in 1884. Sales of unculled from the Provinces at $11 to $12 per bri, and some late caught are held higher. Bay trips have been selling at from $13 to $14.50 per brl sea-packed, according to the lateness..of the catch. Inspected lots of Bay rule at $9.50 and $10 No 3; $12 to $14 for No. 2; and $16 to $20, for No. 1, including medium and large. A few smal] lota from Block Island sold at $18 for No. 1; $37 to 340 for extra No. 1; and $13 for No. 2. A few No f 1885 catch sold at $8 per bbl. Medium No. 3 are scarce and wanted. There has been a fair jobbing trade and stocks in dealers’ hands | are small. Codfish are not so plentiful and selling at a little better prices. Choice dry Bank for retailing command $2,50 per qtl.
