PEOPLE LIKE asap WHERE THEY QRK Let's Talk It Uver A Prince County Viewpoint by "ii" ' g scarcity and Abundance Two things struck us forcibly as we wendod our way airing western highway: to visit Lennox Island (for the first time) last Sunday. one won the distressing paucity of signs to let us know WTICTO we were going. The other Wlg the cheerful. (rind-ly way the people we were forced to rely on gave us instruc- tions and went out of their way to help us. Tourists who are an- noyed by our scarcity of signs must at least be favorably impressed by the friendly, helping hands stretch- ed out so willingly by people of Prince Edward Island's rural com- munltlea. Signposts tell us wherq to go. but simple friendliness make us want to stay. The new Prince County Hospital opens its doors on Tuesday. August 21st. It is a credit to the faith and perseverance of those leaders who through considerable difficulty and gement gave us so much 0. of their energy to the. fulfillment of this formidable undertak-.ng HOLMANiS The building is spacious. beautiful and placed in an area which will in a few years undoubtedly be one or the beauty spots of our Island province. To the sick and suffer- ing. expert care and modern equipment will be assured, and there will be no longed the crowd- ing which has been at time: im- avoidable in the old building. The opening of this splendid institu- tion will emphasiae more strongly than ever summer-side's right to the title: "The most progressive little town in Canada." A Comparison In a life-boat adrift on the ocean when food is scarce. it is carefully rationed so that everyone gets his fair share. particularly the weak. who are given special consideration. In a country when food and other essential: get scarce. the price goes up, so high sometimes that many people are not able to buy all the necessities of life. We are all in th same boat during a time of crisis but are the weak given special consideration? On the contrary. greed is often per- mitted to prey upon human need. Mr. and Mn. Neil Mccannell motored to the Island from west- ern Canada and were Sun- day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Reu- ben Mccannell. '. Honored By W.
