The Hall was well flll- ed for the morning service and the combined choirs of Kilmuir and Valleyfleld, who prepared special music and’ selections, de- lighted and inspired the large congregation present. A brief but very interesting history of the Kllmuir Church, prepared by a committee. was read by Mr. W.A. MacLeod, Elder. The Minister, Mr. Fraser, gave the address from Col. 1:9. For the evening service the Hall was filled to capacity and Rev. DonaldNlch— olsun of the Brookileld Presbyter- ian Church, who with Mrs. Nich- olson and their daughter were visiting Mrs. Nicholson's parents, Ml". and Mrs. N. P. MacPhersorl. preached a strong and impressive sermon from John 3:3. The com- blned choirs were richly aug- mented by the Brooklyn Trio who lisang three selections. Mr. Munro l and Miss Christene MacDonald sang a duet and Rev. Mr. Nichol- son sang a solo. Ii was a “High Day" in the history of the Kllmuir congregation. Great praise is due to the people who took such an interest in and spent. so much time preparing for these special services. Also great praise is due the leaders of the Sunday School and Christian Endeavour. The I Kilmuir Sunday School is one of l the sieadlest and most flourishing I in any of our rural charges. This place of worship is to be remod- oiled and painted in the near fut- ul-e. On Sunday evening, Oct. 2nd. Rev. M. D. MacLcod assisted with the service in the Valleyfleld Church and preached an able and thought-provoking sermon on Ge- hozl-Elishas servant, zKings 5:23- 27. Mrs. MacLeod and their daugh- ter Mary beautifully sang a duet. The MacLeods have bought a home in North Sydney. Cape Bret- on, and are to move there in the near future, for Mr. MacLeod is retired and finished his ministry in Dundas. The best wishes of their wide circle of friends in Prince Edward Island follow them at they go to their new home in Cape Breton.
