Station News Happy 1990! Welcome back to Shock Hazard, CIMN Radio’s mish—mash of station news, music news, interviews, album charts and program highlights. Hope you all had a great Christmas. Santa was very good to us and managed to drop off a shiny new CD player and CD’s, a brand new double cassette deck, headphones and a lot of other little additions to the station. He even made sure that we are broadcasting in the © Pit once again. By the time you read this, CIMN will be back on the air again on a daily basis from 9 am to midnight. Just a reminder to all DJ’s that the program sched- ule from last semester has been wiped clean, so be sure to drop by the station on the third floor of the Barn and put your name down for a shift. Anyone and ev- eryone is welcome to come up and be a DJ, no experience necessary. Besides DJing, CIMN has a couple of other jobs open at the radio station. We are looking for energetic people to fill the positions of Advertising Manager and we also require a number of people to be Production Assis- tants. We will provide all neces- sary training. For more informa- tion, drop by the station or phone the office at 566-0417. CIMN Radio is making a change in programming. We claim to be an album-orienteda “alternative”station. Therefore we are trying to cut back on the amount of top 40 hits being played on CIMN. You will still hear many popular artists, but, CIMN will be playing different al- bum cuts instead of the same sin- gles that you hear on other radio stations. Hopefully this will en- able us to offer something differ- ent and still play what you like to hear. Our request line is still 892-— CIMN and, unlike most other sta- tions, you can request anything, hit or non—hit, single or non— single, so phone in; our program- ‘ring is based on what you want te hear...” That’s about it until next week. The program schedule and some program highlights should be in next week’s editions of Shock Hazard. Impress Your Friends Claim the title of CIMN Pro- duction Assistant. We are seeking 2 more peo- ple to fill the positions of produc- tion assistants. These people will be in charge of the production of advertisments, station identi- fications, promos and anything else they want. Each person will chose a minimun of an hour per week. During this time the pro- duction asst. will be at the sta- tion, available to do production work or help others who require help with production. This is a fun and rewarding position, un- fortunately, it is a volunteer po- sition. In addition to producing, the assistants will assume the re- sponsibilities of technical train- ing.
