Her parents, Mr.and Mrs. Semple , came to New Glasgow from Renfrewshire, Scotland in 1820, whengthe subject of this sketch was two years old, and her brother the late James Semple. four years old, At that time there were i but three families settled in New Glasgow viz James Arthur and George Nisbet of Scotland who had settled there in lSl9,and i Abram Buskirk. a Loyiilist. In December 71839 she married Robert Orr, who has l now been dead some 20 years or more. They had in all ten children, of whom one died in early life and,another, Alexander, died when about 35 years of age, unmar- ried. Eight children survive, four sons and four daughters. The eldest, Robert Orr, is in Australia; James Orr 'n Cali- fornia; \Villiam Orr in New Glasgow; Nelson Orr in New Glasgow on the home- stead and with him his sister Miss May also daughters of the deceased, reside in Brockton, Mass. Mrs. Orr was a. quiet, unassuming lady, devoted to her family and home, a dutiful wife, a loving mother and highly esteemed by her neighbors and friends. Her funeral took place on Satur day last at which Rev.
