Benedicts Lose 7-5 The single men proved .them- selves too much for their married brethren last evening as they bat- Wflson fairly freely to earn a ‘l-E. decision. The ame lived up t0 its forecasts be very tight throughout. The single men went right out for runs in the first inn- ing getting three clear hits which were good for two‘ runs. The mar- ried men exceeded these with one in the second and one in the third ant. went ahead four to two get- ting two in the fifth. The lead was shortlived however, the single men knotting the count again in their half of the frame. - The game was won in the sixth which saw the single men pushing across three markers. Landry and Charlie Hogan led’ off with singles i the letters being a perfect bunt down the third base line. Dodds came through with a double t0 centre scoring both runners and Al Clow came through with another run after Dodds was nabbed off third. The married men came back with one in the seventh and had the tying runs on bases with two out when Larkin made a nice job of handling Wilson's line drive to centre to retire the side. The bat- tery of Daley and Hogan worked to perfection and had things in control at all times. Wilson 0n the mound for the losers was effective until the sixth when the single men pushed across three big runs to tuck the game away. Finan- cfllly the game was a success which is very gratifying as it certainly was for a worthy cause. The next league game will be played this evening between the Red Sox and Kensington.
