Although his health had not. been good for some time not. many realized his serious condition and his passing came as a great shock to his many friends throughout the whole Domihioii. ' Senator Sinclair was born in stimmerfield on December 24th, 1879, son ofthe late Peter Sinclair and Margaret MacMurdo Sinclair. After completion oi’ his school education he £00k up fmvmins in ‘his home community which Cc- cupiitlon he continued to engage in during the remainder of his life time. ln the year 1908 he comménofid his. long and honourable political career tirtien he was nominated as a llbcral candidate for first Queen-i but was defeated in the Provincial election held that year. In i917 he was first elected to the House of Commons at Ottalwa and represented his constitucncy there almost continually until i930 when he was appointed to the Senate. The funeral was largely attend- ed and the floral tributes were very pretty, thus testifying to the esteem in which Mrs. MacFadyen was held by all.
