Dec. 27. The president, Mr. John A. Gordon, pre- ' sided. Tho minutes weri ad by ) und duly adopted, after which the F president and secretary gave their f reports in which the year’s work f was carefully reviewed, -and the standing of the Institute was quite satisfactory, and the financial statement showed u good balance d on hand. Mr. D. P. MacKinnon then grive an able address in which ho advocated the purchase of more pure ibred stock tor the district. The secretary then brought before the members thc advantages of potato spraying, and then it was drcided to purchase one or more power machines. it was also de- cided to have a lecturer in the near future to address the institute on this matter. This shows the mem-. bcrg of the Onward institute are koenly alive to the needs of up-to- dute iai-ming niclliods that go to niuko for the betterment of farm production. This institute is ever ready to take advantage of any op- portunity to obtain up-to-date ma- chinery and the best of pure bred stock for the use of the members.
