I t MORNING SESSION The House resumed at 11:30 a.m. The Premier paid a tribute of re- spect to the late Alfred A. MucWll- llams, who passed away on Sunday last. This was concurred in by Mr. W. ll. Dennis and llon. J.D. Stew- art. l Dr. A. A. Mac-Donald enquired if a new portfolio. that of Minister of ‘Irrigation was being established in ,view "of the prohibition amend- iments. He suggested that Mr. Harry ‘Cox be given the post. Hon. B. W. LePago brought up the report of the contingent com- mittee. . Hon. J. D. Stewart thought that it should, as customary be presented on the last day of the session. The Premier concurred with him, so its presentation was duly defer- red. ' ' On motion of Dr. MacMlllon. the act amending the acts incorporating the City of Charlottetown, was re- committed. to the committee of the whole. Dr. Maclvlilian asked that clause 5 which had been deleted, be replac- ied in the act. The putting up of tanks and pumps was becoming very common. They were being in- stalled even by grocers and others. It is said that the tanks are being supplied free by gasoline distribut- ors to increase their sales. The le- gitimate vendors, he stated, wished the fine to be applied. He mov- ed that the clause be restored. I-Ion. W. M. Lea. stated that, al- though hc had opposed the clause yesterday, he had been approached 11y a delegation, who represented to ilm that many were being supplied vith these tanks and pumps free, whereas those who had themalong lme had had to pay for them. How- aver, they thought, and he thought. ‘J Y. BOWLING TELEPHONE COMPANY Last night the Telephone team W estern Guardian -COME AND ENJOY yourself at Victoria Hall on Saturday.
