Dave Car- negy gave an interim report on the carnival and said that the gross receipts were very satisfac- tory. He will give a final report at the next meeting. Now the bulldozer is levelling the lot and filling up the cellar and now it is not apparent that a house ever stood there. /. large number of the tall trees which were dead have been cut down and all the bushel torn out. Some of ,the trees will likely be left standing. The property was form- erly owned by the late Mr. Justice A. C. Saunders and after his death it wee purchased by the Canadian Legion. During the war a war eer- vice canteen was operated in the building end after the end of hoe- tilltiee the Legion put the property up for sale and it was purchased by the Town. It has not been de- cided to put it to any definite use but it. is a centrally located pro- Derty available for any important use that might turn up. The fire was in the residence of Dolor Arsenault on Northumberland Street and result- ed in the building being badly gut- ted, with considerable damage caused by both fire and water. The blaze broke out about 11 o'clock and was in one upstairs bedroom, in the attic and in a wall in a hail on the first floor. Most of the furniture was removed from the storey and a half house. Mre.
