Dec. 14 -(AP) - The stock market. last week rode the crest of business confidence into a high for the year. There was a brief pause for con- solidation at mid-week. and then the market resumed its climb. The Associated Press average of 60 stocks closed at 5113.90 up 51.50 on the week at a high for the year. It was the third high for the aver- age during the week and put it at A level that hasn't been exceeded since June 5, 1930. Last week railroads had an un- usual share of buyimz -ilmpularity and contributed more than any other major divtslon to the rise. They had plenty of help and many characterized the week's forward movement as a rotating advance with first one and then another of the major divisions leading the way. .
