The pastor. v. J. A. N cholson occu- pied the chair. Financial reports were hem-d from oflicera of all the different branches and departments of the church. They were all very an. couraging, and very creditable to "W!!! l ‘his each report showing a substantial increase over last year and well over their allocations. - The most encouraging was the treasurers report of the whole congregation showing an amount which surpasses all previous years and making it the banner year in the history of the church. This reflects credit on the spirit of the lseople as well as on the supervis- on and leadership of the pastor, who has always taken a keen int- erest in everything pertaining to the welfare cf the community. A few years ago, due to the de- pression, the church was carrying quite a deficit and paying a re- duced salary, but of late years the deficit and the standard salary with the percentage for the pen- sion fund going to the head of the Uniited Church of Canada has been Central Church is also a branch of a "self-sustaining circuit.
