     Canada pledges anew her war effort and re-dedicates it to

     Two years ago the British Empire began a struggle against the powers of darkness 
     
     and tyranny. Now the Empire enters on its third year of warfare. Behind it lies 
     
     the heroic evacuation of Dunkirk, the hisstory-making “Battle of Britain,” while, 
     
     with the tide ever turning in our favor the “Battle of the Atlantic” continues to be 
     
    
   
   
    
     Even now the forces of Nazism are being turned back on all fronts and our Empire
