educational meeting ot' more than usu-
al interest was held in Murray River
Hall on Friday evening, May 'ith inet.
There was a large attendance of
teachers and rate-payers, also the
Women's Institute was well represent-
ed. At the opening of the meeting Mr.
Robert Whitewiiy, Jr.. was appointed
chairman, Mr. Wlilteway after ti few
introductory remarks called on Mr.
Coughlan to address the meeting.
Mr. Coughlan gave a pleasing address
along agrlculttiral lines, He pointed
out the great benefits to be derived
t'rom school gardening. l-le was foi-
lowed by Mr. lt. ll. (‘iinipbell, B.A.
(`liiet` Superintendent. of Education,
who gave ati eloquent anti instructive
address along educatioiial lines. The
next speaker was the lion. Murdock
McKinnon, Coinniissloner ot' Agricul-
ture, who spoke of the great work the
women’s institutes were doing in ini-
proving the schools. etc., ol' this prov-
ince. The closing address was given
hy Mr. Adams, inspector ot' Southern
Kings County, who spoke ot' the
improvement of the school in general
and urged the ratepayers to co-oper-

ing the interests of Education. After
