Mr. Learcl ha; been a life long resident and a prosperous Iarmer in tha district; Mrs. Lear-d has always been an active worker in the Women's Institute, and is a talented musician and they will be greatly missed in the commun- ity. Presentation of an ‘electric twilight floor lamp was made by Mr. Robert Waugh and Mr, Bren- dan Sherry and an address was read by Mr. Alexander MacFar- lane. Mr. and Mrs. Leard thank- ed ali for their thoughtfulness in remembering them with so nice a gift which was very much ap- preciated, and extended an in- vitation to coma and visit them in their new homo at Bedeque. A sing song was enjoyed with Mrs. Leard at the piano. Refreshments were served by the ladies present. A farewell gathering was tend- ered Mr. and Mrs. Fred Murray and family on Tuesday evening at tho homo of Mr. and Mrs. Brendan Sherry, Fernwood. Mr. Harrison MacFarlane called the folks to order and expressed the regrets o! those assembled at the departure of their kind and ob- iiging neighbors who are leaving the community.
