A ‘“‘Fairy’’ Calendar The constant improveri nt in calendars is becoming more marked each year. The creations in this line, which a score of years ago, would be deemed works of art are now classed with those varigated mental compositions of which ‘“Poor Richard’'s Almanac’’ was a veritable prototype. This great advancement in the of making typographical charts by which the passage of the year can be accurately gauged is mainiy—if not entirely—due to the perfecting and cheapening of the various pro- cesses of printing. These have de- velopped to such a state that today, the work of the printing and litho- graphic press rivals that of the painter himself. In fact, it is pos- sble by the expenditure of great care and skill to so reproduce a picture that it will at a short dis- tance puzzle even an expert to tell whether it is genuine or not. As an illustration of this fact, the 1904 Cakndar just issued by The N. K. Fairbank Company is an example, For years, the ‘‘Fairy”” Calendars of this Company have meure au toit paternel ; Polycar- pe, non marié qui demeure aussi à | la maison ; Firmin et Pierre, non mariés qui sont aux Etats-Unis.
