A COUNTY COURT.-At the Queen's county County Court on Tuesday, the _,use was heard of Frederick Mosher vs. James Gilbert. The case had been .rled and at the last October term of '-he County Court Judgment una been given lu favor of the plaintiff for $25, the amount he claimed to he due for the balance of the price. The defend- mt claimed that he had made pay- iient of’ $20 to Mosher on October 5, i913, at defendantfs place of residence `n Bristol, and he made an application .o the judge for leave to have a new trial. To this the plaintiff consented ind a new trial took place on Tuesday. Evidence was given by both parties ind the matter stands over for further consideration. AGRICULTURAL MEETINGS-The first week in January will be it very busy one around the Department of Agriculture. ,The short courses in agriculture and lloifsellold science Open on Monday, January 4. in an there are about 350 applicants, but only 25_t'an be accepted in the house- hold science department at one time, so that even although the course will be repeated several times it will not be possible to accommodate all this year who desire to take it. RAILWAY ACCIDENT.-A railway accident occurred at Frederictoii station yesterday, which blocked the track for u few hours, but, on account of a quick despatch of special trains. traffic was not delayed. Two cars of the Cape Traverse train bound for Summcrsido left the track at Frede- ricton, one car sinking deop into tho road bed. _A crow immediately got to work, and after four or five _hours hard work succeeded in putting the cars on the track. A special train was sent out from Charlottetown to Frede- ricton, to which all the western pas- sengers were transferred and brought to the city, only about an hour after the scheduled time of arrival. They have also in one part of their district a pure-bred registered short- horn bull, which was secured from the Federal Department of Agriculture.
