Under that weight will all sell for family use, at fair value. Over 400 pounds, being old sows and stage, will be rated at market value. As matters nowlstand, no farmer can tell what price he will receive, when he brings his hogs to the factory. By such arbitrary rules as the factory may make, s few pounds over or under, _may take from a quarter cent, to one cent per pound. lt is high time, that a stop was put to such sharp practice.As a remeriy,I do not all practical purposes. The' Island is well covered by cheese and butter facmriss; witha board of directors and secretary in each. A list of all hogs_'for sale can be sent to the secretaryfof each factory. All the companies can correspond through their secretaries and directors fix prices, and make rules.
