Mrs. L. J. Reddin, Southport, spent Monday afternoon here the guest of Mrs. H. Jenkins Miss Georgie McMillan, Alberry Plains, was a recent visitor here. Miss Lona Jenkins, student at West Kent School. spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hed- ley Jenkins, Mt. Albion. The school fair, which was held at the McDonald School, on Thursday last, proved quite a success. Rev. Mr. Rayner, Enniore, was a. re- cent visitor to Mt. Herbert, the guest of his brother. Mr. Elton Rayner. The Mt, Albion Women's Institute held the September meeting at the home oi Mr. Samuel Sealey, on the first Tuesday of the month, After the usual business of the society came to a. close, two very interesting contests were put on, one by a mem- ber and the other by the secretary. Report was given by the delegate. Miss Julia. Carver, from the meeting oi the Boards of Trade, held at the Experimental Farm recently. Dainty refreshments _were served by the ladies present and the singing of the National Anthem brought a pleasant meeting to is close. The district convention of the three Institutes, namely, Mt. Albion, Hazel- brook and McDonald was held at the McDonald School, Mt. Herbert, on Tuesday, September 17th. Afternoon session opened at 3.30 with the presi- dent, Mrs. L. J. Reddin presiding. Meeting opened with Institute Ode. Minutes of last convention read and adopted. Reports from each Institute given by the respective secretaries. Address of welcome was given t0 the visiting Institutes by Mrs. Reddin and responded to by Mrs. Hedley Jen- kins, president of Mt. .union Instit- ute, Officers for the ensuing year are: Mrs, H. A, Jenkins, President: and Miss Julia Carver, _re-elected secretary. A brief address was KWH! by Rev. R. W. Lindsay.. Program consisted of a demonstration. "How to cure a Sheepskin" capably given by Mrs. H. A. Jenkins. A solo was rendered oy Rev. R.. W. Lindsay, ac- companied on the piano by Mrs. H090 Mutch. Meeting then adjourned. A delicious supper was served by the ladies, to which all did ample Justice. At 8 o’clock meeting opened for the evening session with Mrs, L. J. Red- din again presiding. Community singing, lead by Miss Jean Fraser, City; was heartily indulged in, follow- ed by a dialogue entitled "Our Aid Society" put on by Hezelbrook In- stitute. Dr. McGuigan then gave A very interesting address on "Better Health." Mrs. Leigh Warren, City favored the meeting with two nicely rendered solos. Solos were also given by Miss Francis Wood, Mr. George Beers Khd Mr. Lindsay, A five minuw talk on good literature was given by Rev. Mr. Lindsay, Humorous readings were also given by Mrs. R. W.
