March 9.-A crew oi men started work today put- ung the starch and potato flour plant in repair. This plant will be started as soon as possible to tab care oi the surplus potatoes in this section of the province. It is estimated that 200 carloads oi potatoes can be mau- uisctured into starch during the re- mainder oi the season. PLANTS It is understood that the local gov- ernment, through the members and Department oi Agriculture, has us- sisted in getting the plant started. The government is also investigating the advisability oi encouraging the erection oi other plants ior manufac- ture oi byproducts in the potato growing sections in order to stabilize the industry, there being quite a market in Canada ior potato starch and other products now being im- ported irom Holland and the United States.
