The main buidlng consists of boys‘ and girls’ public dressing rooms as well as private dressing rooms. A canteen w:ll be opened next week and towels and other services will be provided by the caretaker at a nominal charge. A diving board and a stand have been erected and a platform has been built out from thewharf so that s person diving in the water Will be far enough out to he safe from hidden piles or other objects. Originally the building was built on piles at the side oi the wharf but these supports had been damaged by the. action of the tides and ice in winter time. it. took some time for. permission to be obtained to have the bulld- ing on the wharf proper and when that was forthcoming dif- flculty was found 1n obtaining carpenters, However, the commit- tee in charge have overcome all obstacles and the facilities are now available to the public. Members of the club have been busy every evening this week painting and assisting in various ways in getting things ready. These facilities fill a serious want in Summersidé as they are the only provision of any kind that has been made for swim- ming. Although tbs town is locat- -four heifers, also registered. four ed on the water little eflort has ever been made by the authorit- ies to provide the necessary facil- ities.
