This would make only three of the late contestants entitled to a share of the gate money. On Saturday evening Jehn Ring, a plasterer, entered the surgery of Messrs. Jenkins & Me- Leod, on Queer Street, and purloined a silver- mounted stethoscope. He was shortly after- wards arrested by Officer Heartz, who found the stolen instrument in the interior pocket of Ring’s coat.,Ring denied stealing it, swear- ing that it must have fell into his pocket. The letter states that should he resign, everything would fall to pieces. During the past seven years Mr. Crabbe, as contractor for the service between Georgetown and Charlottetown, as well as Vernon River and Charlottetown, has not failed in any res- pect togive the greatest satisfaction to the ple residing at both places, as well as aleng the route- The courtesy shown by him an his driver to passengers has caused many to regret the expiration of his contract. We might here mention that during the fulfilment ofthe contracts the postal authorities were mover obliged to fine him, and that he always kent three or four stage horses for the route.
