Who hath not lost a friend? Death, the ever lbusy reaper, visits the young and old, rich and poor and claims its victims from the state- ly mansion, as well as the humble cottage. ‘The residents of High Bank were shock- ed to learn of the sad death of Miss Katie McKay eldest, daughter of John McKay, which took place in the City Hospital, Boston, Mass. on Feb. 3rd. Miss McKay had resided in Massachusetts forthe short period of live months when she was stricken down with pneumonia. She was conveyed to the above named hospital on Tuesday. and on the following Sunday, at five a. ni. the silent messenger entered and tier spirit winged its ilfght to the eternal shores. Her grief stricken sister accompanied the remains to Picton. where she was detained until the 19th, as a cross ing could nut be effected. The remains were taken to her former home at High Bank, where the funeral service was con- ducted by Rev. E. Gillis, and, amid chok- ing sobs and farewell tears all that was mortal of her was laid to rest beside her mother. The writer had known the de- ceased from early childhood, and esteem- ed her for her sterling qualities possessed of a kind and generous disposition she was indeed an amiable girl. Her sojourn with us here was of short duration, being only in her 22nd, year. When purged from every stain and guilt I soar with angels up to Thee, I know dear Saviour, that thou wilt, Open the pearly gates for me. Much sympathy is felt for the father brothers, sisters, and aunts to whom the deceased was deeply attached in tbisliour of sad bereavement. ` Scnoomr.-\'rE. é-+-- . NOTHING EQUALS IT. but who still keeps abreast of _the times, in speaking ofthe advance made .in 'the last ten years says: One of the most ob- stinate and baffling diseases is the very common trouble, catarrh. Nasal catarrh is only one of its many forms: catarrh of the throat, catarrh of the stomach, bowels, liver and bladder are very common but the sufferer usually thinks it is something: else than catarrh and is treated for the wrong disease. The best and most successful treatment for any form of catarrh is now admitted to be by internal remedies through the stomach and the safest and probably the most ellicient is the tablet form, sold by druggist as Stuart/s Catarrh Tablets. I have seen many remarkable cures of catarrh resulting from regular daily use of these tablets, which seem to act on the blood and liver, driving cuiarrh poison out of the system through the natural chan ' nels. I once had occasion to analyze these tab- it lets and found them_to contain no coca~ ‘ ine nor opiates, but simply a combination of harmless antiseptics like Eucalyptal, Guaiacol, blood root etc. At any rate I have known of severe cat- arrh headaches which were, cured by Stuart’s Catarrh Tablets, and catarrh deaf- ness, hay fever, asthma and catarrh of the _ throat 'and stomach speedily show great ` benefit after a few days use of the remedy and when it is remembered how much more convenient a tablet is than inhalers douches, salves and powders it is not sur-' prising that this new preparation should so rapidly supplant all other remedies for catarrh.
