It means that no child will be born un- less it is wanted, and will be loved and adequately provided for -- both phy- sically and emotionally. It means that two people are not forced into a legal marriage because their ‘love.and concern for each other did not extend to protection through a re- liable contraceptive. It means that a woman does not have to face the hum-' iliation, and trauma of an abortion, legal or illegal, because she thought that it wouldn't happen to her, , or was too embarassed to consult a doctor and dis- cuss effective birth con— trol but not mature enough to delay sexual relations‘ until she and her partner were able to accept the responsibility. Respons- ible parenthood involves sex education, ayailability of effective and safe met— hods of birth control, an understanding of human sexuality, and honest re— lationships.
