were unanimously tendered to the mem-
bers of the churches entertaining the Con
v .-1. ti in a nd their friends for
their hospitality and kindness; to
he Trustees of North Baptist
Church for the use of their building; to the
ch wir ,for their efficient aid; to the Pre-
sident of Convention for so ably conduct-
ug the business; to the press for tie
courtesies extended to Convention; to the
railway and steamboat authorities for
reduced rates to delegates and to any and
all who have contributed to make the
session a success.

inspiring addresses were made on behalf
of Horton Academy by Principal Horace
Bi-ittain; on behalf of Acadia Seminary by

Descendants of Poet Longfellow, com-
prising Miss Longfellow, sister and par-
ty, witnessed a performance of Ojibway
Indians of a dramatic creation of Long-
feIlow’s Hiawatha at Desba.r|.t's Island on
Saturday. Sunday the party attended
religious service to_the Indians, conducted
entirely in Ojibway language at Long-
fellow’s island. Afterwards Miss Long-
fellow made a speech tothe Indians which
was translated into Ojibway by Indian
,Missicnaiy Frost. Wednesday, 29th inst
the Indian tribe will perform the cere- `
mony at Longfellow Island of adopting
Miss Longfellow into the tribe. '
