Pyke. The evidence was decidedly emphatic, and the respon- dent did not defend the application. Ella M. Pyke is 39 years old, and the divorced man, C. MJ Pyke, is two years her senior. He is at present living in San Franciso with Miss Mabel Kearns, a pretty girl, 21 years old. Harlaw, say the herring season has pissed without any actual conflict having occurred between French and New- foundland fishermen, But through the obstinacy of the captain of the English war- ship in prohibiting the natives from catching fish while the French were there, the New- foundlanders only got half the catch of last year. Herring were there in abundance, but the people were not allowed to take them until after the French fleet had gone.
