The cooperation oi citizens in this matter was necessary. he said. to keep electrical supply costs to the present level, and pointed out that a satisfactory re- lP0!ise to this appeal could re- sult in a substantial financial sav- ing by the tilwn. In making th's suggestion Coun- ciilor Clark presented a chart which revealed that the peak of the electrical load had increased about ten percentlabove what it p was at this time last year. He explained that the Summer- side Electric Light Department has a contract with Maritime Electric Company by which spare electrical energy can be pur. chased from Maritime Electric Company at a cost based up the demand in excess of 2100 K.W. This Peak, last year, was reach ed during Christmas week when the electrical. consumption at one point reached a peak of 2470 K.W. and on this basis the town had to pay 3492.00 for the month of Dec- ember and the succeeding eleven months. however. an adjustment was made in this amount in April due to the loss of custome 3 West of Summerside which were taken over by Maritime Electric Com- pany in April. On Tuesday night of this week the peak reached ZZQ K,W., and on this basis Councillor Clark feared that increased seasonal do mand on electricity during the next few weeks would result in a higher peak than last year. with resulting higher costs having to be paid for standby service which Maritime Electric Company have SI. Dunsian's Plays S'side Aces Tonight Tonight the Summerside iAces will pit their hockey skill against the always popular Saint Dunstan University team. This should prove a real test for the home boys. as S.D.U. made things very close and interesting for the pow- er-packed Parlidale Flyers last Tuesday evening. The Aces man t and players feel that they must deliver the goods this time to stay popular with their fans, and they are determined to give the University aggregation real tiistle for supremacy.
