' For the effort made on behalf of the hospital, Mrs. Stewart ex- pressed sinccre appreciation to those in the Department of Health, and to residents of various districts who had made it possible to obtain the new hospital equipment. Dr. Bonnell, Minister of Health. accompanied by Dr. 0. H. Curtis. Deputy Minister of Health, made the formal presentation of the in- cubator and the croupette to the matron, Mrs. Lldstone. He paid special tribute to the work of the general practitioner- the family doctor - and pointed out the important role he ust play in the life of a community. He complimented the district on their initiative and the results of their ombined efforts, and ex- pressed an encouraging opinion that hospit costs. within a few years would free, but in caution- ing that nothing was really free. implied that the costs would be borne collectively or indirectly.
