The total reduction oi articles in which definite comparisons could be made amounted iii the first hnlf year to over $1700. There are several other ways in which the schools are benefited by the School Supply Department. For instance blackboards which formerly were difficult to get at even a high price can now be quickly procured from the School Supply at about half the former cost. In this way many Schools which on account. of the cost und the dificulty of procuring them went without hlackboards to the detri- ment of the school. The same applies to Maps. furniture, &c. .Tho schools are thus becoming bet- ter equipped and ut much less cost than formerly. -The system has recently been in- vestigated by tho Liberal Government of Nova Scotia and they have catab- lished a School Supply Department pn lliies similar to that in this Prov- llt`.0.
