April 27 -- (OF) -A financial source said the week the Bank of England is negotiating a stock deal giving the United states an interest in the Belgian Congo uranium mines. Spokesmen for the Bank, the Treasury, and both British and American Interests involved refus- ed to confirm or deny the deal. but they admitted that a question on the matter will go before the House of Commons in a few days. The deal. if carried through. would also give American interests is big share in control of the vital Benguela Railway which moves the precious are from Africa's heart on the first leg of its journ- ey to American A-bomb plants. If the reported deal matures. the bank would sell about 1.000.000 shares of stock in "Tanganyika concessions" to a financial group with strong American participa- tlon.
