AB E TRANSFORMATION REMARK L __ Our readers have been supplied by us from time to time with comparative statements showing the benefits which the province has derived from the change of Govem- ment three years ago. Under the Liberals the Province , was steadily going from bad to worse. Deeper and deeper into debt were the farmers being plunged by the grab, graft and gross incompetence of the clique which had kept the government in its hands for twenty Years- They and bsttened on the reyqxol the Province while the public service lhrved. nm _ s crumbled to ruin. and the sons of termern were driven from their Island home to develop less fertile but better governed lands else Where- F01' WEB!! And what has been the result? in three years the Province has risen on the ashes of its dead-self. To~day, instead of being a by-word as the pauper province of Confederation it holds the proud dis- tinction of being the-most prosperousprvince in Canada’s wide dominion. Last year, after three years of Conservative rule, the farmert realised $2,000,000 more for their crops than in the next best year in the Island's history. The debt of the island has been decreased by some $90,000, $155,000 has been spent on permanent public works, annual deficits have been relegated to limbo, and in their place annual surpluses are the rule. In order that our readers may fully appreciate the significance of the change we have here get out in parallel columns the comparative records of Grit and Conservative rule. The tale the figures tell is so clear and emphatic that they must convince the most sceptical of the Governnienfs critics, not excepting The Patriot.
