A Rewarxasre Case.—A young lobster fisherman named Stoddard applied to Dr. Perrin, the mariae hospital surgeon, a day 0. two ago for aid, as he had a little ab- ecess coming on the side of his jaw, which was heginning to get painfal. He said he had a fit while Jobster fishing nine weeks before and in pounding his fave around anong some rubbish he had inflicted a slight wound in his cheek un ler one cheek. This had about healed and only a slight scar was left, but the abscess had started lower down on his cheek, and there seemed te be someth ing hard in it. Oa examination the doctor found what was, apparently, the point of a nail in the abscess, but it was in so firmiy that ordi- nary forceps would not extract it.
